How to register in Nagarik App and use its features
Nagarik App is a program or software system that runs services on mobile and tablets. The beginning of the digitalization in Nepal is pushed by Nagarik App. Nagarik App is owned by Government of Nepal to provide government services to its citizens in a single online platform without visiting any Government offices physically. It was initially released in December 19, 2019 and stably released in May 2, 2021. This app is only available in Android and iOS operating system. Nagarik App uses English and Nepali language as a means of interface.
The main aim of this App is to reduce the queues outside the offices and make Nepal a digital country. By digitalizing, this will benefit its citizen by making the government work faster and easier, saving a lot of time of citizens.
Anyone who is the citizen of Nepal can use Nagarik App free of cost. To register in Nagarik App one must have any one following document.
- Personal Mobile Number
- Citizenship details
- Passport details
- Any other Government issued Identity
Registering in Nagarik App
- Select the language you find reliable either English or Nepali
- Enter your Mobile Number that can be of Ncell, Namaste or any other
- After that a verification code is sent to your mobile, enter that code for the
- Now, Choose the Identity type ( Citizenship, Passport or License) you want
- Please provide your details correctly so that there won't be any problem in future
- Now, Choose the option to verify
- Now set your pin code on the app for privacy and security
A lot of features are available in Nagarik app. Just a few months ago there wasn't so much feature but after the latest update on the app many new services are added. The services like applying for a PAN registration, services related to Citizen Investment Trust, Saving Funds, Educational details, Malpot services, Health Insurance, paying Vehicle Tax, applying for Police Clearance Report, Covid-19 Vaccination registration and Certificate. We can also link our Citizenship, Passport and License. Moreover, we can apply for correctionby this app.
Details of some Services
1. COVID Vaccination
As Government has started the vaccination program for the Corona Virus, government has also made it mandatory to have proof of vaccination to get any kind of services. By using this app, we can register for Covid-19 vaccination. As to get vaccine, government has made mandatory to fill up the form. To register we have to click in the bottom right for pre-registration and fill the required details.
Now to apply for QR Certificate slide to the left and click the verification button and fill the required details.
2. Police Clearance Report
Police Clearance Report is very important document if you are planning to travel abroad. This report proves that you haven't committed any kind of crime and you are eligible to travel abroad. This report also proves that you are not the violence type of person.

3. Vehicle Tax
This service is latest in this app. We can now pay our vehicle tax from our phone in a minute. This has made a lot of people saves their time.
To pay the vehicle tax, first search your vehicle by enter the Required Data
4. My Municipality
In this feature, We can get the details of every municipality of the Nepal. Details like the area of municipality, population, address of government offices, tourist attraction places, details of government officer and staff, etc.
